In Memory of Gina

Ginaginagina

Our sweet Gina Leigh passed away on January 16, 2018, after a valiant fight with breast cancer. She was 35 years young. Born June 15, 1982, Gina was raised in Kansas City, MO, and attended Center High School where she was a talented member of the swimming and dance teams and was honored as a KC Star Scholar-Athlete. She also swam competitively for several years in United States Swimming with Longview Aquatics. Gina attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Following her passion for animals, she attended the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in St. Louis and became a registered veterinary technician. For six years, Gina loved working at Heritage Veterinary Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO, where she treasured the relationships she had with her clients and colleagues. A true animal lover, she shared her home with several pets. Angel, Nani, Troy, Benjamin, and Kacee each brought her much joy and happiness.

Funny, charismatic, and genuine, Gina was the light in every room. She always wore a smile on her face, and she touched the heart of everyone she met. Gina loved spending time with friends, attending concerts and sporting events, and traveling. On February 5, 2009, she married Bryan on the beach in Maui, Hawaii. She learned to surf and dreamed of one day living in paradise. Gina was the best example of forgiveness, unconditional love, integrity, courage, and hope. Her spirit danced across this earth like the flutter of butterfly wings. Finally, at peace, she is now free to fly over the rainbow.
